Classical Music/Jazz virtuoso and multiple Grammy Award Winner, Wynton
Marsalis referred to her as having the „Voice of an Angel“. So when Monica Schmidt was selected by the former conductor of the Berliner Philharmonie, Maestro Claudio Abbado (ECHO Award Winner 2005 "Conductor of the Year") and Wynton Marsalis as a soloist for the international cooperative "All Rise" project (The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and Berliner Philharmonie) it was one of the highlights of her career as a classical music artist.
Monica Schmidt, trained in the Bel Canto technique with Dr. Irma Cooper/Opera Columbus and later worked with internationally reknowned Wagnerian Helden Tenor Endrik Wottrich (Professor Würzburg University), and traveled Europawide to perform at such prominent venues as the Bregenzer Festspiele, Den Norsk Oper, Raimond Theater, Rueil Malmaison(Opera Internationale de Paris), Theater Des Westens, Theatre de Vevey, Teatro Córdoba and Hartwell Arena(Finland). Monica Schmidt was a featured artist of "Human Voices"(a conceptual presentation of various music genres from opera to folk, pop, and soul) that was the overwhelmingly well recieved first presentation of the Oscar Prize winning filmmaker Pepe Danquart. She also shared the stage with such reknowned artists and conductors as Maestro Andrew Litton, Echo award winner Wayne Marshall, Deborah Sasson, Erkan Aki and the Platin Tenöre (Andre Rieu World Tour) and many more. Her professional travels also include: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Berlin, Munich, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Bali, Dubai (UAE), Valencia, Burgos, Toulon, Avignon, Brussels, Geneva, Lausanne, Salzburg, Vienna and Moskow.
Monica Schmidt, known to the Dance music world as "Mizmoni", exploded onto this scene with such songs as "Keep on Swingin"(Jerry Ropero/Clubworxx) 2003 featured on Universal/ID&T/DJ Jean..s Madhouse Mix, Trendy Eastern-Shanghai, The Annual(Ministry of Sound) and The world..s most famous theme party compilation, IBIZA in BED with SPACE. This surprise club hit was later remixed by DJ Flex of Cyber Production/Royal Flush Records(France) and rereleased to greater success!
"Higher Love"2004, Dj Cambis (Excited /Peppermint Jam), which appeared consistently in the top 20 charts and was a top pick for Housepacific radio as well as frequent radio play throughout Germany, France, Switzerland, Russia, Italy and Japan. Her projects were supported by such prominent Djs as George Morel, Dj Jean, Jerry Ropero, Denis the Menace, Jonathan Ulysses, Danny Marquez, Milk & Sugar, David Vendetta, Eric Morillo, DJ Flex, Junior Jack, Antoine Clamaran.....and many more. Mizmoni..s newest single „Dance“(VisionFactory) is featured on the latest compilation „World of Sounds“ from the amazing Brasilian Dj Bruno Renno and is remixed as well by Mizmoni and DJ Alex Botar under Divaladisco.
Mizmoni..s charismatic stage performance was shared with music greats such as: Afrika Bambaataa, Afrika Islam, Tyree Cooper, Eric D. Clark and Westbam, in the Berlin Arena to a crowd of 15,000 and as a guest artist including the Turntablerockers for the Coke dj-culture Tour at the famous Berlin Watergate. Mizmoni worked with such artists as pop sensation, Shakira, Wyclef Jean, German popstar Ayman, German R&B sensation Jlorenzo and DJ Size as well as Radio Personality, DJ Vantell(Berlin/USA), who books such famous acts as 50cent, 112 (Mizmoni was the opening act at theKudorf/Berlin), prince of R&B Trey Songz and many more.
Mizmoni was also the featured artist in residency at 360 Istanbul the hottest night spot in Istanbul, Turkey. This was sponsored by none other than Tommy Hilfiger, which allowed her to appear on Turkey..s most popular talk show „Haber Türk“ and radio show, „N101 with Cem Ceminay, where Mizmoni performed live!
